OpenAI est une entreprise spécialisée en intelligence artificielle, basée à San Francisco, et fondée en tant qu’association fin 2015 par Elon Musk et Sam Altman à l’aide d’un fonds initial de 100 millions de dollars. Son objectif est de promouvoir et développer des algorithmes IA afin d’en faire bénéficier toutes les populations, de leur permettre de gagner en autonomie et d’avoir un effet de “transformation” dans des domaines comme la santé, le changement climatique ou encore l’éducation.
Parmi les outils développés par OpenAI, nous pouvons citer : GPT-1, la première version du modèle de langage d’OpenAI. GPT-2, la seconde version du modèle, mise au point en février 2019 et capable d’écrire des articles de presse. GPT-3, l’une des IA les plus puissantes dans l’histoire du NLP. ChatGPT, un modèle de langage formé à partir d’une vaste quantité de données textuelles. Ce dernier peut générer du texte de manière autonome. Dall-E, un modèle génératif permettant de créer des images originales à partir de texte Dall-E 2, une évolution de la première version, qui étend ses capacités de création d’images originales à partir de texte.
